Crossroads

Back when I started this blog, I told myself and my husband that if either of us felt that this was putting too much stress on me or taking too much time away from my family, I would call it quits. Well, Monday night I hit that crossroads. With 2 very young children at home, I have decided that I need to spend more of my attention on their needs as well as my own and my husband's. I really have been enjoying this blog and a chance to share my experiences with money saving and deal seeking, but I guess now is not the time for it.

After much thought and prayer, I have decided to simplify things and put a hold on my blog. Hopefully some day when my children are a bit older, I will be able to return to it. But for now, it is not to be.

So as not to leave you in the lurch, I have come up with a list of great resources! These blogs are where I've learned just about everything I know about saving money. I hope that you will benefit from them as well!

Money Saving Mom- Crystal does a great job listing all the current deals, freebies, and has several great posts on how to save money. She feeds her family of 4 on $40 a week!

Common Sense with Money- Mercedes also has a great blog and lists all the weekly deals for Rite Aid, Walgreens, and CVS, as well as other great posts on saving money. She has a great post here on saving money at the grocery store without using coupons.

Freebies4Mom- Heather lists lots of current freebies and online sweeps

$5Dinners- A great blog with daily $5 dinners!

Deal Finding Mom- Shaws weekly deals!

SlickDeals- a forum for all kinds of deals. I follow the Shaws thread that lists all the current Shaws deals and Catalina deals
I have found the easiest way to keep track of blogs is to use Google reader. If you have a gmail account, you can easily set up Google Reader. If you don't have a gmail account, it's free and easy to set one up. Google Reader keeps all your blogs organized and lets you know when a blog has a new post.
If you have any questions, please email me at recession proof shopping @ gmail dot com (minus the spaces) and I will be happy to help!
Good luck on your quest to save money and find deals! Thanks to all my loyal readers! It was a pleasure!

  1. Sad to hear you're taking a hiatus, but as the mother of 2 very young children myself, I completely understand :-) Hope you're able to start back up again soon. I really did enjoy the blog!
